Here's a little about us:
Its what we believe, who we are and how we work.

We believe:
Safety, comfort and significance belong with every senior, every time, everywhere.
Our approach is intentionally person centered. Our time together inspires laughter and fun with enough structure to scale our support as needs change.
This is why we've created regularly scheduled visits for our seniors, and how we are a reliable support for their families.

A note from the founder:
I am in this myself. I am a caregiver for my mom. All of this matters to me. I admit, sometimes its tough to sort through the emotions that come with caregiving. I look to learning to help relieve or manage my anxiety or fear of the unknown. [I found that the Best Friend's Approach program from the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary was so inline with what we were already doing, that I took the Train the Trainer program.] If I can pass along information and insights that I have learned along the way to other families, then hopefully it empowers them while easing their mind and hearts. I am a daughter with siblings whose father passed away in 2000, who is a caregiver with my sister to our Mom. Life is busy with my husband, two sons and my business. Like you, I have a lot of roles and responsibilities in my life.
Its important to me that seniors are not only supported but feel valued and significant. Giving them a chance to escape from the "usualness" of the day, I see so much potential for access to creativity, fulfillment and active living with the support of a Friend. This is how we can ward off loneliness and isolation. This is how obstacles are identified then removed or reduced. This is how Quality of Life can be elevated, through Friendship and one on one time together.
As a family caregiver, I know I am able to understand things easier and support my loved one better when I come from a place of ease, spaciousness and flexibility instead of from anxiety or annoyance or guilt. I do better when I feel better. I make a point of keeping myself healthy with sleep, nutritious food, water and relaxation techniques. I remember that caregiving is a marathon and not a sprint.
On an added note, if you believe in coincidence (or not), A Friend Indeed was created and in operation for 6 years before my mom started experiencing changes. To have the education, the experience, and the wonderful people in place to access in our time of need was true preparation from the Universe into our lives. I am grateful for that. I am grateful for it all. I invite you to reach out for a conversation."
